Based on the unbelievable but true events, I, Tonya is a dark comedic tale of American figure skater, Tonya Harding, and one of the most sensational scandals in sports history. Though Harding was the first American woman to complete a triple axel in competition, her legacy was forever defined by her association with an infamous and poorly executed attack on fellow Olympic competitor Nancy Kerrigan. Featuring an iconic turn by Margot Robbie as the fiery Harding, Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney, and an original screenplay by Steven Rogers, Craig Gillespie's I, Tonya is an absurd, irreverent, and piercing portrayal of Harding’s life and career in all of its unchecked—and checkered—glory.

  • I love this so much...

This is one heck of a thrill ride movie for anyone that remembers ANYTHING about the Harding/Kerrigan event. Even if you don’t, the acting is superior and does not let you down. I loved every second of it.
  • Didn't enjoy. Wouldn't reccomend

I felt the movie was more of a pitty party for Tonya... It just wasn't enjoyable and I wouldn't recommend to others.
  • Not a Comedy

    By TheFunkyWickedMaven
Truly, this isn’t a comedy, not even a dark one. Pain & Gain was a dark comedy based on real events and it was funny. This movie was brutal and not funny. There was nothing funny about the abuse shown in this movie. However, the acting is good and if you go into this movie with the mindset that you’re going to see child and domestic abuse in about 30% of the scenes, you should be fine.

I wasn't a fan of the style used to tell this story, but the movie was well acted. It was alright.
  • Best movie I’ve seen in ages

Movie was perfection, from dialogue to set design. If you were born in 80s or earlier you will appreciate everything this movie has to offer. I have to admit, I grew up in a trailer. This movie really struck a cord. This movie nailed every bitter sweet and heart wrenching aspect of growing up dirt poor with crazy/trashy parent to boot. This movie is funny, sad, and exciting all at the same time. With perfectly executed acting, editing, and directing iTonya will make you question what you everything thought about Tonya Harding.
  • So good

It’s definitely a dark comedy. The film is entertaining throughout. Definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen this year.
