“Dunkirk” opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in.
Dull, Boring & Disappointing
If you are a WW2 buff, stay away from this movie, far far away. Comes across as low budget, lacking direction and script. 400,000 were evacuated by sea? The movie was lucky to show 400, the beaches were mostly bare. The Germans? Never to be seen. Three British Spitfires made up the RAF, one flying without fuel and shooting down a German ME109 while it was gliding. CGI effects were very minimal. This movie was made for grade school kids, if you know anything about Dunkirk or WW2 in general, you will be disappointed. Waste of money and time.

The absolute most pointless and boring 45 minutes in my life. I had no idea what was even going on.

Boring, overrated. No acting at all.
This movie just proves the more awards a movie gets, the worse the movie is.
What a truly crappy price of work this movie is.....save your money!
No stars horrible movie
Action nope talking yup not a very good movie that story was better left on the battle ground
Planes, beaches, music in the background
This movie was really boring, the music in the background made me hate it more. There are better wwII movies to watch than this, save your money and watch something else..
Simply breathtaking and amongst the year's best! Buy it as you will definitely rewatch and show all of your friends.
Fantastic movie and great cast as well. I absolutely loved it!!
A Masterpiece of an Experience
By Manuel Lardizabal
Dunkirk does what no other war film has ever done before. Induce the audience on a tense and nerve wracking experience through the events at the beach of Dunkirk. The film never intended to focus on the characters development but what they are going through, their flaws and their humanity in being linear. The music, the cinematography, sound design, and the overall experience makes for a war movie you have never seen before.
Missing an emotional core
Surprising for a war movie, but there is strong emotional center here. Instead we jump and back forth between multiple stories that eventually converge, but given the relatively short running time doesn’t give the audience time to actually care about any of them. Technically the film is flawless (not really surprising give the team) but the actual story just isn’t there.
