Beautiful to look at but I wanted more depth. Seemed all about the imagery.
  • Bad Dialog, Slow, Tries to Recapture the Original Magic But Fails

Save yout time and money. This movie is terrible. Dialog is bad, story is overly complicated and uninspired. I found myself not caring about the plot, characters, or anything else. On the bright side, Ford's acting is exceptional. I thought the original movie was 5 stars. This one is 1 star at best.
  • Very good movie -- with same theatrical reaction of 1st one

"Blade Runner 2045" is a very good movie. The story is a good one, and it's extremely stylized -- just like the first film. The visuals are stunning, but complaints are merited, regarding holding shots too long, appearing to bask in the beauty of those shots. One key difference between the two films is the lead. It's not an indictment of Ryan Gosling, but he doesn't have the same presence of Harrison Ford, who is more expressive and intense in the original, as opposed to Gosling's predominantly coolness. This can matter in terms of keeping a viewer drawn to the screen. And, with the film nearly 2 hours and 45 minutes, the often expressionless, cool of Gosling, accompanied by the held shots that slow pacing, viewers can understandably dislike the sequel. With all of that being said, watching in the comfort of your own home may help make the slow pacing less bothersome (even as a rental, you now have 48 hours to finish watching, so it can be finished after more than one sitting -- which is how I watched the movie). If you have a large HDTV screen, which many of us do, "Blade Runner 2049" is worthwhile viewing -- just know that the pacing is slow, with each shot held a few seconds longer than needed.

A BEAUTIFUL movie, but really requires a long attention span. Dragged on a bit. But cinematically, it's definitely a masterpeice.
  • Worst movie I've ever seen

My husband and I agreed that this is hands down the worst movie we've ever seen. Wish we could get that time spent back. The trailers looked action packed & were a definite hook. Joke's on us---this movie draggggggggggged along... Usually enjoy Ryan Gosling & Harrison Ford....these high ratings are a complete mystery.
  • Painfully slow...

This is one of the slowest action movies I’ve ever seen. Yes the cinematography looks good, that’s about the only thing this movie does right. The pacing of the movie is so drawn out, it doesn’t have a very good flow. The acting was good though, and if you liked the first and are a fan of it, then this might be for you. Sadly this movie was not for me.

What a terrible movie. Bored 57 mins in. Couldn't stand any more of it's lack of engaging plot line aside from the shallow depressing theme of "I want reality back". Awful.
  • Horrible Movie

This was an awful movie. It was way too long as if they were trying to extend the torture. The plot was shallow and leaves the viewers with little detail and reasoning behind it and the conflict of the story and the character development was very weak especially in regards to the antagonist. Disappointing!
